Deep cocoa with a velvety body and balanced sweetness — a proper hot chocolate rather than a chocolate-flavoured milk. The cocoa is forward enough to taste of chocolate rather than of sugar.
The item that sells to everybody who is not drinking coffee: children, evening trade, winter service, cinema and mall counters, and hotel kids' menus. It is the most reliably ordered non-coffee hot drink on any board.
Hot milk. A whipped top, a dusting of cocoa, or marshmallows if the setting suits it — this is a drink customers expect to be decorated, and it costs almost nothing to do.
Everything else in this range dissolves in water. These do not — the declared ratio is about 14 g into 100 ml of hot milk, and milk is doing structural work here rather than just softening the drink. It carries the fat-soluble aromatics that make almond, pistachio and cardamom smell like themselves, and it gives the cup the body the whole category depends on. Made with water these taste thin and slightly chalky, which is the single most common way a good pack gets written off. The practical consequence for a counter is that this line needs a milk supply and a way to heat it, which the instant teas and coffees do not; it also means the drink can be made with whatever milk the customer wants, because the mix is not carrying its own.
