Badam milk is sweet almond milk with cardamom, drunk hot or chilled across India. This guide covers what it is, how to make it with a badam milk mix, how to make a kesar badam shake, and what the mixes cost in India.
Badam milk is sweet almond milk, flavoured with cardamom and often saffron. In India it is drunk hot in the evening or chilled in summer. A badam milk mix is a ready powder of sugar, crushed nuts and cardamom. You stir it into hot milk, so a cup takes about a minute and needs no grinding or simmering.
What it is. Sweet almond milk with cardamom, a classic Indian milk drink. Taste. Nutty almond with gentle cardamom warmth and balanced sweetness. Made with. About 14 g of mix in 100 ml of hot milk. Our mix. Badam Milk Mix, 500 g jar, ₹265 including GST.
Badam is the Hindi and Urdu word for almond. At home, badam milk is made by soaking almonds, grinding them and simmering them in milk with sugar and cardamom. Saffron is often added for colour and aroma. It is a common drink at weddings, festivals and in the evening, served hot in winter and chilled in summer.
Our Badam Milk Mix is a flavoured milk premix in powder form. Yes. The ingredient list includes crushed almond (badam) and crushed cashew, with cardamom powder. It also uses permitted flavour and colour. The product page describes the taste as almond with a gentle cardamom warmth behind it and a nutty aroma. The sweetness is balanced so the nut stays the main taste.
This is the method printed for our Badam Milk Mix:
Heat 100 ml of milk, add about 14 g (1 tablespoon) of Badam Milk Mix and stir until fully dissolved. Adjust to taste and serve hot, or pour over ice for a cold version.
For iced badam milk, dissolve the mix in warm milk first for a smooth drink, then pour over ice. You can also blend it with chilled milk. A few slivered almonds on top finish the cup.
Use milk, not water. No. The mix is made to be stirred into milk. With water it tastes thin and slightly chalky. The milk gives the drink its body and carries the almond and cardamom aroma. Any milk the customer prefers will work, because the mix does not carry its own.
Our Badam Milk Mix is ₹265 for a 500 g jar (MRP, including GST). Businesses get 10% off by the case of 30 jars with a GSTIN, and 20% off with free ground shipping on orders of ₹19,999 and above. Retail buyers can order a single jar with no minimum. It ships across India from Hyderabad within 7 days.
Each jar keeps 12 months sealed. Store it cool and dry and reseal it after opening. What a café or sweet shop charges for a glass depends on its milk and cup size, so menu prices vary.
Kesar badam pairs saffron (kesar) with almond. For a thick, cold shake, our Kesar Badam Milkshake Mix comes in a 1 KG pack at ₹899 including GST, ten packs to a case. It is kesar-flavoured: its ingredient list includes almond and permitted flavour and colour, and it does not list saffron.
Add 25–30 g of Kesar Badam Milkshake Mix to 150–200 ml of chilled milk and blend until thick and frothy. Pour over ice and serve. Top it with whipped cream, syrup or tapioca pearls for a café-style shake. For a thicker shake, blend with ice or a scoop of ice cream. The same business terms apply: 10% off MRP by the case with a GSTIN, and 20% off with free ground shipping on orders of ₹19,999 and above.
We make both mixes at our FSSC 22000 certified plant in Hyderabad. Badam Milk Mix comes in a 500 g jar, 30 jars to a case. It is vegetarian and Halal. It contains nuts, and the allergen advice notes milk derivatives. Badam milk itself is made with milk, so it is not dairy-free. Cafés and chains can also ask us about custom milk-mix blends and private-label packing.
